You may have noticed something about person 1, who can receive blood from so many people. Person 1 is able to do this because there are many different cell surface antigens on their cells, and therefore very few antibodies in their blood. So people with a lot of different cell surface antigens on their blood cells are closer to being universal recipients. Let's introduce a new person into our scenario:
