That's right! A platelet transfusion can have the side effect of decreasing the client's TPO levels, and that will make it more difficult for the client to create their own platelets. (Greinacher, 2005) None of this has told us how the body forms a clot, though, or where those fibrin filaments that bind the platelets together come from. |
