Using your log table, what is the logarithm of 6?

You should find that it is 0.78.

What would the logarithm of 6,000,000 be?

Well, you know that 6,000,000 is the same as 6 x 10⁶.

And you know that the log of (a x b) = log a + log b.

So all you need to do is take log 6 + log 10⁶

Which is 0.78 + 6 = 6.78
