You've probably already noticed a relationship between the number of hours and the number of bacteria, once you put it into scientific notation.

Making a graph 106 units high is a real pain.

But since what's changing as these bacteria multiply is the exponent -- the power to which 10 is raised -- why not graph the hour against that number? Then you'd only need a graph 6 units high!

If you decided to do this, how would you label your graph? You can use the word 'logarithm.' It means the exponent to which 10 has been raised.
